Ener-G-Rotors’ GEN4 System is a 40kW-60kW appliance that transforms low grade heat into electricity, economically and efficiently, so you can increase the energy efficiency of your operations and reduce your carbon footprint. The GEN4 uses 150ºF- 300ºF hot water or low gauge steam as an input to produce electricity. As such, this system represents a sweet spot for industrial customers who currently throw away hot water or steam as waste heat streams, or worse, spend money to cool them.
Economical system provides fast payback
Because of the efficient and simple design of our expander, the GEN4 is the most economical way to convert low grade heat into electricity at small sizes and low temperatures. Our customers can expect a payback of two to three years, with electricity prices as low as $.06 per kilowatt hour. If your process runs 24×7×50, and you pay $.10 a kilowatt hour for your electricity, the GEN4 generates about $42,000 worth of electricity a year. In addition, it will reduce CO2 emissions by about 280 tons per year. Not including government incentives or carbon costs, these conditions will result in a payback of less than three years.
Modular system fits close to waste heat stream
The GEN4 is a complete, modular, drop in Organic Rankine Cycle system containing all of the hardware and controls necessary to convert low grade heat into electricity. All of the components are included in a single, modular box that can be easily installed near the heat source. Complete controls for starting and stopping the device, automatic grid interconnections, automatic disconnect, and an easy user interface are all included with the system.
Installs easily without disrupting your manufacturing process
The system is designed as a drop in appliance; connection to the site is simply four hoses and a wire to your internal electrical system. The waste heat stream is diverted through the hot heat exchanger included in the system. At the same time, a cooling stream is diverted through the cold heat exchanger, also included in the system. The electrical connection is made at a nearby panel or box, and the system is ready to go.
System engineered for durability and long life
Because of the robustness of our expander and the system’s hermetically sealed refrigerant system, the service and reliability are similar to a refrigerator: 20 year life with little or no maintenance.
